Good press!

Many thanks to Tom Stienstra of the San Francisco Chronicle for the shout-out in this weekend’s paper!

More importantly, a huge acknowledgement of gratitude to every person at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV who shows up day after day with one focus…providing a memorable experience for our guests. Come check us out and see what the Chronicle saw!

In the past four years, new owners revamped this property, and the upgrades raised the bar above many other properties in the area. This is a privately operated site set on 12 acres of redwoods, located along Patrick’s Point Drive in Humboldt County. You’ll find a line of cabins that front a campground circuit for RVs and tents. You are minutes from both Patrick’s Point State Park and Trinidad Head. At Trinidad Head, you get a gorgeous beachfront on one side, the Seascape Restaurant (known for crab omelets) at the foot of an old pier on the other, and a short hike (Tsauri Loop) on the headland with a few lookouts for an ocean panorama. Rates start at $99 per night. Reliability & "Under New Management"!

As children bellying up to the dessert table, our parents used to tell us "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach!" Judging by the excitement / anticipation evident in our last post, the same held true for our hopes of an aggressive purchase timeline. We are finalizing the purchase of Emerald Forest Cabins & RV today, almost two weeks later than we had initially hoped (the bulk of the delay was due to the unreliability inherent in some approval/application processes).

This delay left us time to think about reliability and what it means for us and for you, our guests & friends. Reliability, in both our business and personal lives, is the most beautiful world in the English language. It is the difference between a long-term, valued relationship, and one that is discarded with little to no sense of loss. It is our goal to ensure that you receive a dependable, consistent guest experience in trade for the choice you make to stay with us, and in appreciation of that choice.

Joshua & Latisha have been the textbook definition of reliable for more than two years now, both as hosts and as partners. Beginning today as your new onsite managers and owners, they bring their years of experience in management & customer service to Emerald Forest Cabins & RV.  The excitement we feel about their future, married with this magical site, can best be summed up in the words of Ellis Boyd 'Red' Redding in Shawshank Redemption, "I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel. A free man at a start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

Safe travels, wherever you may be this holiday weekend. We look forward to seeing you soon,
